Rasha and the Reed Bracelet

Once upon a time, in a small town, lived a poor girl named Rasha. Her hair was always messy, she wore dirty, torn clothes, and had a pair of worn-out shoes. She lived in an old house with her parents, and often they went to bed hungry. Despite this, Rasha never complained and was determined to improve her life and that of her family someday.

Rasha occasionally shared her food with her best friend, Jad, who was also from a poor family. He would do the same whenever he had food to spare. One day, as Rasha was on her way to visit Jad, carrying some slices of bread, she noticed something sparkling on the road. She picked it up and found it was the most beautiful bracelet she had ever seen, adorned with vibrant colors. She hurried to Jad’s house, gave him the food, and showed him the bracelet she had found.

"Look how beautiful this bracelet is!" Rasha exclaimed in amazement.

"Do you think it might have fallen from someone by mistake?" Jad asked thoughtfully.

"But who? There are no wealthy families in this neighborhood, and we rarely see visitors here," Rasha replied.

Jad thought for a moment and then joked, "Maybe an angel dropped it for you."

When Rasha returned home, she showed the bracelet to her parents. Her father said, "This could be our chance to end our poverty. Aren't you tired of being poor and unable to afford anything? Think about it, tomorrow we’ll go to the market and try to sell it. I’m sure we’ll get a good price for it since it seems like a unique bracelet."

Rasha looked at the bracelet and hesitated, "I can’t sell it. As much as I want us to escape poverty, this bracelet is the first treasure I’ve ever received. Please don’t take it from me, Father."

That night, however, Rasha felt guilty for refusing to sell the bracelet. She wanted to help her parents. The next day, she hurried to Jad’s house and told him what her parents had said and that she was thinking of selling it.

Jad said, "It’s a good idea; after all, if you can get some money, it will help end our poverty, so it makes sense to sell it rather than keep it without any use." He decided to accompany her to the market to sell the bracelet.

On their way, they passed by Rasha’s house, and she informed her parents that she had decided to sell the bracelet. Her parents were pleased and embraced her with love. Rasha and Jad went to the market and showed the bracelet to people, but most people ignored them, as they looked dirty with unkempt hair. Others ran away from them, while some laughed. It seemed that people could not believe that the bracelet was valuable, and their miserable appearance made it harder to convince anyone that it was a rare treasure.

Rasha and Jad spent the whole day in the market without selling the bracelet. Rasha felt disheartened and deeply sad. Jad comforted her, assuring her they would keep returning to the market until they sold it. Weeks and months passed with no success, and no one bought the bracelet.

One night, Rasha forgot to take off the bracelet from her wrist before going to sleep as she usually did. She fell asleep quickly, and the bracelet suddenly began to glow brightly, remaining lit throughout the night. It didn’t go out until she woke up the next morning. The first thing she did upon waking was to look at the bracelet on her wrist, which she was accustomed to taking off before bed, but it was no longer there. She was terrified and immediately got out of bed to search for it. But she noticed something strange. Her room looked different. Her bed was soft with warm blankets, and when she looked in the mirror, she saw she was wearing beautiful, clean clothes.

She descended the stairs quietly, feeling amazed and anxious, taking in the beauty of her surroundings. Her parents were standing at the bottom of the stairs with wide smiles on their faces, wearing the most splendid clothes she had ever seen. When she reached them, they were astonished by her beauty.

"You look so beautiful!" her parents said in amazement and hugged her.

Rasha asked, "How did all this happen?" Then, she noticed the bracelet still in her hand, glowing and lighting the way, unlike at night. They were all astonished by what they saw. Rasha said in wonder, "Could it be that the reason is… the bracelet?"

The bracelet glowed once more in response to her question, and they all laughed. It was strange how the bracelet that everyone had dismissed turned out to be a priceless treasure.

From that day on, Rasha and her family lived comfortably. They learned that happiness and wealth could come from unexpected places, and the bracelet became a symbol of hope and determination.
