One night in prison, while Aboud and Grigor sat in the corner of the courtyard discussing their future plans, something felt off. The atmosphere was tense, and Aboud sensed that something was wrong.
Grigor (calm but tense):
"Something isn’t right tonight. Keep an eye on everyone, Aboud."
Aboud felt the danger too. Prison was a place where trust was scarce, and he knew enemies could come from any corner. Over time, Grigor had taught him always to be on high alert.
As they continued their conversation, Aboud noticed a strange figure approaching them. The man’s face was shadowed, and his eyes burned with anger. He wasn’t one of the usual prisoners Aboud had grown accustomed to seeing. His face was unfamiliar, but his determination was clear.
Grigor (with slight tension):
"This isn’t good. Be ready."
Before Aboud could respond, the man rushed at Grigor with alarming speed, thrusting a sharp knife toward his chest. The movement was so fast that Grigor had no time to react.
But Aboud was faster. Without thinking, he threw himself between Grigor and the attacker, using his body as a shield. The blade was aimed directly at Grigor’s heart, but instead, it plunged deep into Aboud’s right arm, cutting through flesh and bone.
Aboud (screaming in pain):
"Ahhh!"
But he didn’t back down. Despite the agony, he grabbed the assailant’s knife-wielding hand and tried to stop him. Grigor, shocked at first, regained his composure and charged at the attacker, landing a hard punch straight to his face.
Grigor (furious):
"You won’t kill me that easily!"
The attacker, stunned by the swift reaction from both Aboud and Grigor, stumbled back, trying to regain his balance. But Aboud, despite his injury, didn’t let him get away. He jumped on him again, grabbing hold and landing repeated punches until the man collapsed to the ground.
The chaos in the courtyard had caught the attention of the guards, who rushed to the scene. As they restrained the attacker, Aboud sat on the ground, clutching his bleeding arm.
Grigor, still in shock from the attack, looked at Aboud with obvious gratitude. He knew that Aboud had saved his life, and if it weren’t for his quick action, Grigor would be dead.
Grigor (gratefully and in awe):
"Aboud... you saved my life."
Aboud (smiling through the pain):
"I wasn’t going to let them kill you that easily. You’re the reason I believe there’s something worth fighting for."
Moments later, Aboud was taken to the prison hospital for treatment. The wound was deep, but it wasn’t fatal. Grigor sat by his side in the hospital, reflecting on how quickly life could change.
Grigor (quietly after a moment of silence):
"I owe you, Aboud. What you did today... I’ll never forget it."
Aboud (seriously):
"You’ve taught me a lot, Grigor. I wasn’t going to let you face this alone."
Unveiling the Reasons Behind the Attack
As their bond of trust deepened, Grigor began to reveal more about himself and his past. He admitted that the attack hadn’t been a complete surprise to him. He knew there were still people out there seeking revenge for his previous dealings with the German mafia.
Grigor (with a deep tone):
"The criminal world isn’t easy, Aboud. I’ve made a lot of enemies, and some of them still want my head."
Aboud (worried):
"But... why now? Why in prison?"
Grigor (realistically):
"Prison isn’t a safe haven; it’s just another battleground. Some people want to finish me off before I get out of here. And there are always those willing to do it for money."
Aboud, who was learning more each day from Grigor, began to understand just how dangerous this world truly was. It wasn’t just about surviving anymore; it was about staying alert at all times.
