Chapter Forty-Six: Leila's Call and the New Problem

After the intense confrontation with John at the office, Abboud felt a heavy weight in his heart and mind. He returned to his small apartment after a long day, trying to calm his thoughts and review everything that had happened. It was clear that there were secrets about Gregor that he didn't know, and now he found himself involved in something far bigger than he had imagined.

Sitting on the couch, Abboud took a deep breath, trying to ease the tension he was feeling. But suddenly, his phone rang. When he looked at the screen, he saw the name "Leila." He knew the call could be important, so he quickly picked up the phone.

Abboud (in a calm voice): "Hello, Leila. How are you?"

On the other end, Leila’s voice was filled with tears and tension. She was clearly crying and couldn’t control her emotions.

Leila (sobbing): "Abboud... Abboud, I'm in big trouble. My father returned from his trip and decided to marry me off to my cousin, and I can't do anything about it!"

Abboud froze for a moment. He wasn’t expecting this news from Leila. The moment was filled with worry and anxiety.

Abboud (seriously and worriedly): "What?! Leila, calm down, tell me everything. How did this happen? And why now?"

Leila (in a trembling voice): "My father... My family pressured him, and they want to marry me to my cousin. They came today and asked for my hand, and I can't say no. They’re planning the wedding very soon, and I'm scared, Abboud."

Abboud felt both anger and sadness at the same time. He hadn’t anticipated this moment arriving so quickly, but he knew he had to act fast. He wasn’t going to give up on Leila that easily.

Abboud (firmly): "Leila, don’t be afraid. I’ll fix this. I’ll talk to your father myself, and I’ll ask for your hand. I won’t let anyone else take you away from me."

Leila (with a trembling voice): "Abboud... I'm scared. I don’t want to lose everything. What if my father refuses?"

Abboud (confidently): "He won’t refuse. I’ll go and ask for you myself. I’m serious, Leila. I won’t leave you alone in this."

After the call, Abboud sat down to think about his next move. He didn’t have much time. He knew he had to act fast, but also intelligently. He wasn’t sure how Leila’s father would respond, but he was ready to face anything.

Abboud grabbed his phone and began thinking about how to approach Leila’s father. He needed to be cautious, but also direct and firm.

Abboud (to himself): "There’s no other option. I'll contact her father in any way I can and ask for her hand. I need to be ready for anything."

Abboud knew the task wouldn’t be easy.
