Chapter Forty-Nine: Love Heals the Wounds

After speaking with Abbas and trying to figure out how to gather the money, Abboud felt the need to talk to Leila. Their love was the only thing keeping him strong in the face of all the difficulties. Despite all the hardships he had endured, his biggest dream was for destiny to unite them in one place. He knew Leila was waiting for this moment too, so he decided to call her to ease the tension and pressure he was under.

Abboud grabbed his phone and called Leila. After a brief wait, her gentle voice came through, soothing his wounds like a balm.

Abboud (with emotion in his voice): "Hello, Leila."

Leila (with a faint smile that could be heard through the phone): "Hello, Abboud. How are you?"

Abboud (with a deep sigh): "I'm fine... I just miss you."

Abboud sat on his bed, eyes closed as he spoke to Leila. He began to open his heart to her, just as he always did, talking about how much he loved her and about the dreams he was building for their future.

Abboud (with a dreamy voice): "Leila, every day I wake up thinking of you. I’ve been through so much to get here—Syria, Turkey, prison... but you were always on my mind. You were the reason I endured it all."

Leila (with a voice full of emotion): "Abboud, I know how much you've been through. I’ve always felt you, praying for your safety. But sometimes, I’m afraid... afraid that the circumstances might keep us apart."

Abboud (with determination): "Don’t be afraid, Leila. I’m here now, and I’m doing everything I can for you. I promise I will give you a better life. I’ll do whatever it takes to make up for everything we've lost. I’ll live the best days with you, and I’ll make you feel like a queen."

Abboud was honest with Leila about the suffering he had endured. He didn’t want to hide anything from her because she had been his partner in everything, even though they weren’t physically together. He began to recount some of the hardships he’d faced, as if talking to her would relieve some of the pain.

Abboud (with a sorrowful tone): "Leila, I don’t want to burden you, but you need to know... I’ve been through tough times. Prison, smuggling, the fear of being deported back to Syria. Every moment carried a new danger. I lived in constant anxiety, but the only thing that kept me going was my love for you."

Leila (deeply moved): "Abboud, I can't even imagine what you went through. You were always on my mind, and you were my source of strength. I just want you to know that I’m here for you, and I’ll always be by your side, no matter what."

Abboud spoke with excitement about the future. Despite all the hardships, he had faith that things would improve. He talked to Leila about his plans—the house he dreamed of building for her, and the life he hoped to live with her.

Abboud (with excitement): "Leila, I promise I’ll make up for every day you’ve waited. I’ll build a small, beautiful house for you here in Germany. We’ll live a quiet life, far from wars and fear. I’ll make you happy, and I’ll do everything I can to make your dreams come true."

Leila (with a warm smile): "I know you will, Abboud. I trust you, and we’ll make all of this happen together."

As the call came to an end, they both felt a sense of relief. Abboud knew the road ahead was still long, but his conversation with Leila gave him a renewed sense of strength. He knew there were big challenges ahead, but he was ready to face them. His love for Leila was the driving force that kept him moving forward, pushing through all the difficulties.

Abboud (with a voice filled with love): "Leila, I love you. And I will do whatever it takes to stay by your side."

Leila (with a gentle voice): "And I love you, Abboud. I’ll wait for you, no matter how long it takes."

They ended the call, each holding onto hope and longing in their hearts.
