Chapter Forty-Three: Aurora

A few days after the interview, Aboud felt anxious as he waited for a response from the company. Despite all the hardships he'd faced, this opportunity was crucial for him. His phone, which had been silent all day, suddenly buzzed. Aboud picked it up and saw that the number belonged to the company where he had submitted his résumé.

Aboud (answering quickly, with slight nervousness): "Hello?"

Employee (in a formal tone): "Hello, Aboud. This is a call from the software company. We wanted to inform you that we've reviewed your application, and you've been accepted to work with us."

A wave of joy washed over Aboud. He had finally been accepted.

Aboud (with a broad smile): "That's fantastic! Thank you so much. When do I start?"

Employee: "You'll start next week. You'll receive an email with all the details about your new job."

Aboud (gratefully): "Thank you again. I'm looking forward to working with you."

After ending the call, Aboud sat for a moment, taking it all in. This was a fresh start, a step towards building his career, far from the struggles he had faced.

On his first morning, Aboud dressed in his new formal attire and headed to the company with enthusiasm. He felt a mix of nervousness and excitement, but his eagerness to learn and work overpowered everything else. When he arrived at the company office, the staff welcomed him warmly and gave him a tour of the place. The office was modern, filled with teams working on various software projects.

When he finally reached his new desk, Aboud sat down and took a deep breath. This was his moment, the opportunity he had been waiting for.

Supervisor (smiling): "Welcome, Aboud. We're happy to have you on the team. Today, you'll start familiarizing yourself with the system and working with the programming team."

Aboud smiled shyly but felt confident.

Aboud: "Thank you for this opportunity. I'll give it my all."

As Aboud explored the office and got to know his colleagues, he suddenly noticed Aurora walking towards him. She was dressed elegantly as usual, exuding her usual strength and control over everything around her. Aurora felt something odd when she saw him but kept her expression neutral.

Aurora (with a calm smile): "Hello, Aboud. How's your first day going?"

Aboud (smiling): "It’s been good. Everyone here is very helpful, and I’m adjusting to the environment."

Aurora stood for a moment, looking at him, trying to understand more about this man who she knew might be connected to her father’s past.

Aurora (in a serious tone): "I’m sure you'll adapt quickly. Your work here is important, and we expect a lot from you."

Aboud felt a bit of tension but responded promptly.

Aboud: "I’ll do everything I can to give my best."

Aurora simply smiled a little before leaving him to return to her office. But that moment was filled with questions for both of them. Aboud didn’t know that Aurora had a personal interest in him beyond work. Aurora, on the other hand, was trying to figure out how this man connected to her mysterious past.

As the days passed, Aboud became more accustomed to the work. He focused on his projects and always aimed to do his best. Over time, the interactions between him and Aurora became more frequent. She would occasionally stop by to check on his progress or to ask questions related to the projects.

One day, while Aboud was working on a particularly challenging programming problem, Aurora came over and sat beside him.

Aurora (in a calm tone): "I know this project is tough, but I believe you're the right person for the challenge."

Aboud smiled and spoke with confidence.

Aboud: "I enjoy challenges. I’ll make sure to solve this issue."

Aurora watched him carefully. She had a feeling that Aboud wasn’t just an ordinary employee, that there was something bigger waiting to be discovered. But she wasn’t yet ready to confront all the questions that lingered in her mind.
