Chapter Fifty-Four: The Cursed Wallet

After Aboud finished the intense confrontation, he felt a temporary sense of relief. He took a deep breath as he looked at the man he had knocked to the ground. But as he got closer to check on him, he noticed something familiar in his features. There was a scar on his face, a scar Aboud never expected to see again.

Aboud (shocked and stunned): "No... this can't be!"

He looked closely at the man lying on the ground. He knew him well; this was the same man he had faced in Izmir, the man he thought he had killed in that confrontation before escaping on the boat. Aboud was sure at the time that he had left him behind, dead, but now, here he was, alive.

Aboud (to himself, trying to gather his thoughts): "How did he survive? And how did he get here?"

Thoughts raced through Aboud's mind. It was clear that this man wasn’t here by coincidence. His appearance now meant something much bigger. Aboud thought the story of the organization had ended with Gregor's death, but now he was starting to realize that the story wasn’t over yet. The organization was still watching him, and they wanted something from him… something related to the digital wallet, which he still didn’t know the location of.

Aboud (quietly to himself, filled with caution): "The organization didn’t disappear… they’ve returned, and they know where I am."

This discovery hit Aboud like a lightning bolt. He wasn’t just a refugee trying to escape and survive; he had become the center of attention for a dangerous organization chasing after something he didn’t fully understand yet.

Aboud (with determination): "If they think they’ll take me down easily, they’re wrong. I’m not the same person I used to be."

But inside, he knew things were about to get more complicated. The organization wouldn’t stop here, and they wouldn’t leave him in peace. They had returned, and now he had to be more cautious and smarter than ever.

After the violent confrontation with the mysterious man, Aboud realized that time wasn’t on his side. The police could arrive at any moment, and he needed to get away before finding himself caught up in an endless investigation. In a flash, he decided to leave quickly. He got into his car and hurriedly started the engine, leaving the scene behind.

Aboud (thinking as he drives away): "I can’t stay here. The police won’t understand what’s going on, and I’ll be the first suspect."

Streetlights passed by quickly as he drove towards a safe place. All that occupied his mind was one question: "Why have they returned?"

After driving far enough from the scene, Aboud pulled over to the side of the road and took a deep breath. He needed to talk to someone he trusted. He quickly grabbed his phone and started searching for Aurora’s number. He knew it was time to tell her everything.

Aboud (anxiously dialing): "Aurora... you need to know what happened."

He waited a moment before hearing Aurora’s concerned voice on the other end of the line.

Aurora (with worry): "Aboud? What’s wrong? You sound upset."

Aboud (serious and tense): "Aurora, you need to be careful. Things have gotten more dangerous than we expected. I was attacked tonight."

Aurora (shocked and scared): "Attacked? What happened? Are you okay?"

Aboud (filled with caution): "I’m fine, but it’s not what you think. The man who attacked me... he’s the same man I thought I left for dead in Izmir. The organization is back, and they’re looking for something important—maybe the digital wallet."

Aurora (disturbed): "The wallet? What do you mean?"

Aboud (filled with uncertainty): "I don’t know all the details, but it seems Gregor was hiding something much bigger than we imagined. These people won’t stop until they get it, and you might be in danger too."

Aboud could hear the concern in Aurora’s voice, but he knew this warning was necessary. Aurora was now part of this puzzle, and he needed to ensure her safety.

Aurora (hesitantly): "What should we do? Do you know where they are now?"

Aboud (calm but firm): "No, but I know they’re watching us. You need to be careful, Aurora. Don’t trust anyone easily, and don’t go anywhere alone. I’ll try to find out more, but until then, you need to be prepared for anything."

Aurora (nervously): "This is terrifying... but I trust you, Aboud. Just be careful yourself."

After ending the call, Aboud sat in his car for a moment, thinking about everything that had happened. Questions flooded his mind. Why had the organization returned now? And what made them so desperate to find that wallet? He knew time was running out, and he had to act quickly.

Aboud (to himself, with determination): "Time isn’t on our side. I need to uncover the truth before it’s too late."

He started the car again and drove into the night, his mind filled with plans and questions.
