Chapter Sixty-Four: Aboud and Layla's Meeting

After confirming that Layla's work visa had been approved, Aboud began to feel that the long-awaited dream was finally within reach. He set the date for her travel and the reunion, unable to contain his excitement about seeing Layla after all those years. He wanted to make this day very special and prepared everything to ensure it would be memorable.

Aboud grabbed his phone and called his loyal friend Abbas to share the joyful news.

Aboud (with great enthusiasm):
"Abbas! Get ready! Layla is coming soon, and we’ve set the date for her arrival. I’ve arranged everything for the wedding."

Abbas (happily):
"Oh my God! Finally! I’ll be there by your side on that day. I can’t wait to celebrate together."

Aboud began preparing all the wedding details, and although it would be a simple event, he wanted it to be unforgettable. He booked a small venue for the ceremony after Layla's arrival and coordinated all the arrangements with close friends. Everything was running smoothly, and Abbas was by his side, helping him with every step.

Aboud (as he plans with Abbas):
"I want everything to be ready when she arrives. The flowers, the music, even the small wedding details... This day has to be the beginning of our new life."

Abbas (jokingly):
"Don’t worry, Aboud. I’ll be here to make sure everything goes perfectly."

Aboud was living moments filled with hope, eagerly awaiting the long-anticipated reunion.

Scene Three: The Big Day Approaches

Everything was set, and Aboud could hardly contain his excitement. He had prepared everything just the way he wanted, ensuring that all the arrangements were in place. He had waited years for this day, and his feelings were a mix of joy and anticipation.

In those moments, Aboud felt like all the suffering he had endured was now behind him, and that love and happiness awaited him on the horizon.

Aboud, who had been waiting for the moment to reunite with Layla for years, stood in Berlin Airport holding a bouquet of flowers, his face brimming with joy and anticipation. He couldn’t believe that his dream had finally come true after years of patience and waiting. Everything was ready for the start of a new life with the love of his life.

On the other side, Layla was walking toward Aboud slowly, but there was no joy in her eyes. Her face showed signs of tension, as if she was carrying a burden she could no longer bear alone. Her eyes didn’t meet Aboud’s, and when she got closer, Aboud stood before her with a big smile and love in his heart.

Aboud (with a big smile and filled with excitement):
"Layla! Finally, we’re together. I can’t believe we’re about to start our new life."

But instead of responding with the same enthusiasm, Layla stopped abruptly. Her expression revealed conflicted emotions, and Aboud began to notice something was wrong.

Layla sighed deeply, as if trying to summon the courage to say what she had been hiding for a long time. She lowered her head for a moment, then looked at Aboud with eyes full of guilt.

Layla (in a shaky voice):
"Aboud... there's something I need to tell you."

Aboud felt as though time had stopped. Her words echoed in his mind before she even said them. He knew something bad was coming, but he couldn’t escape the reality unfolding before him.

Aboud (anxiously and surprised):
"What’s the matter, Layla? What’s going on?"

Layla took a deep breath and began to reveal the truth she had been concealing for so long.

Layla (in a low, guilt-ridden voice):
"Aboud... I’m sorry. I can’t be with you. I haven’t been honest with you all this time. While you were in prison... I met someone else."

Aboud froze in place. He hadn’t expected to hear something like that. It felt like everything around him collapsed. How could this happen? How could the love of his life betray him like this?

Layla started to explain her betrayal in a hesitant voice filled with regret.

Layla (in a quiet, remorseful tone):
"I was lonely, Aboud. I didn’t know if you would ever return. I felt lost and weak. While you were in prison, I met someone else online. We talked a lot, and over time... my feelings for him changed. I didn’t plan for this to happen, but it did."

Aboud (in a broken voice, trying to process what she just said):
"Someone else? Layla... we loved each other. I sacrificed everything for you. I endured prison, suffering, and everything, just so we could be together. How... how could you do this to me?"

Layla couldn’t respond. She knew that every word she said would only deepen Aboud’s pain. But she couldn’t run from the truth any longer.

Layla (in a soft voice):
"I’m sorry. I didn’t want to tell you this way, but I couldn’t face you before coming here. This person is waiting for me here in Germany... this trip wasn’t to meet you, but to meet him."

Aboud felt as though his heart had completely shattered. The moment he had dreamed of for years had turned into a bitter nightmare. He stared at Layla, unable to comprehend what was happening in front of him.

Aboud (in a trembling voice, his eyes filling with tears):
"Why, Layla? Why?"

Layla (with a sad sigh):
"I’m sorry, Aboud. I couldn’t wait any longer. Things have changed... and I have changed."

As Aboud struggled to gather himself, Layla began to walk away from him. She stood by a car waiting for her outside and got in with the person she had been involved with all this time. Aboud stood there watching her walk away, unable to respond or move.

Abbas and Aurora stood behind him, watching the scene unfold in shock and disbelief.

Abbas (in a soft voice, looking at Aurora):
"This is unbelievable... Layla had been betraying him all along?"

Aurora (in shock and sadness):
"How could she do that to him?"

Aboud stood alone, unable to process what had just happened. The love of his life, the person he sacrificed everything for, had left him and broken his heart. Tears filled his eyes, but he kept his head held high, trying to appear strong, even though his world had crumbled entirely.

Aurora (in a sorrowful voice as she approached Aboud):
"Aboud... I’m so sorry."

But Aboud couldn’t respond. All he felt was pain and betrayal.
